ABOUT GERALD GRAMZAY

(October 17, 1956 – October 8, 2013)

Gerald Gramzay was a part of the hospitality industry for over 40 years. His search for new directions in food, nutrition and service just seems to intensify each and every year. His travels have taken him to France, to school and apprentice, to five star restaurants in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York City to train and develop, then back to native Michigan to lead and inspire.

From fine dining restaurants, to high profile, guest centered private country clubs and deluxe boutique hotels and inns; Gerald continues his pursuit of quality, consistency and growth. As corporate chef of Stafford’s Hospitality since 2001, Gerald’s team maintains the culinary programs at four Michigan landmark properties; Stafford’s Bay View Inn, Bay View; Stafford’s Perry Hotel, Petoskey; Stafford’s Pier Restaurant, Harbor Springs and Stafford’s Weathervane, Charlevoix.

Toni Gramzay, Gerald’s wife of 25 years, has been integral both in inspiration and hands on assistance as has their son Brandon. Amusements: communications, gardening and farming, travel, teaching, inspiring and learning.
