One Magical Era, Two Distinct Properties

We invite you to experience Petoskey's favorite landmark lodging... historically speaking. Built during the Golden Age of resort lodging, Stafford's Perry Hotel and Bay View Inn recall an era of refinement and hospitality, overlooking Little Traverse Bay.
The Bay View Inn - Petoskey was purchased by Stafford and Janice Smith in 1961. Stafford and his family has owned, operated and lovingly restored, this grand Victorian Country Inn on the shores of Lake Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay. Built as a rooming house in 1886 in the Historic Landmark District of Bay View, this Inn sets the standard in country inn dining and gracious service. Each beautifully appointed guest room features a private bath, and individual climate controls. Visitors to the area enjoy summer Chautauqua programs, championship golfing, paved bike paths just out our front door, our fall color tours, winter ski packages, and sleigh rides around the Bay View cottage grounds. Petoskey’s Historic Gaslight Shopping District and marina are located nearby. Our inn is an exquisite place to hold weddings, rehearsal dinners, receptions and reunions. Many quiet corners offer a wonderful environment for company meetings and conferences. Landmark hospitality where yesterday and today come together. Voted ‘Michigan’s Best Brunch’ by Michigan Living.
Built in 1899, the three-story, canary yellow brick The Perry Hotel - Petoskey was an immediate success. A local landmark in a town rich in history, the hotel is located in Petoskey’s historic Gaslight District; it is a Victorian gem in the midst of the area’s late 19th century houses and hillside gingerbread cottages. Inside the main dining room, a panoramic window overlooks beautiful Lake Michigan and Little Traverse Bay. Individually appointed guestrooms feature turn-of-the-century wallpaper. Outdoors, guests can enjoy warm summer afternoons on the gracious porch or sunsets on the elegant Rose Garden Veranda. On the hotel’s lower level, the Noggin Room Pub features “roll up your sleeves” dining and hosts Northern Michigan’s best entertainers.
