As we take time this Memorial Day to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by countless men and women who have served our country, we are thankful to call this corner of the mitten our home. Memorial Day Events
Flag raising ceremony at W.W. Fairbairn & Sons in Alanson – Monday, May 29, 2 pm
Services are planned for 9 am Monday in Veterans Park and at 10 am in Brookside Cemetery.
Start your day with breakfast at the Legion Post – Monday, May 29, 7 to 9 am, followed by a flag raising ceremony at 9 am. Stick around because the Parade on Main Street begins at 10 am.
The 5K Walk/Run on Monday, May 29 begins 8 am. This small town tradition benefits the Harbor Springs Food Pantry. Suggested $10 donation per participant. Click here for registration and route details.
Firing Squad in Greenwood Cemetery – 9 am. The Parade on Mitchell Street (from Emmet to Pennsylvania Park) begins at 10 am followed by a service in Pennsylvania Park.
Round Lake Music FestivalSaturday & Sunday, May 27 & 28
Free concerts at East Park Pavilion in Charlevoix beginning at 1 pm, 4 pm & 7 pm both days. The Round Lake Music Festival also includes and a beer tent with DJ from noon to midnight.

55th Annual Memorial Pageant in Mackinaw City
A must if you’re in the area over Memorial Weekend. 55th Annual Memorial Pageant – the longest running free historical Memorial Day performance in the nation! Re-Enactment times are: Saturday, May 27th at 3:30 pm; Sunday, May 28th at 2:30 pm; Monday, May 29th at 2:30 pm. The Memorial Day Parade takes place on Saturday, Ma7 27 at 1 pm. Huron Avenue to Central Avenue to Nicolet Street. Followed by fireworks at dusk!
