Stafford’s Gallery hosts many local artists representing a variety of mediums. Some of our artists will be joining us this summer for a meet and greet. We hope you’ll join us to chat with these talented artists and view their wonderful collections.
Our series of Meet & Greet The Artists events begins this Thursday, June 29, 5:30 to 8:30 pm with Michigan artists Neil Ahrens and Julie Roth!
His abstract paintings are original oils and reflect his interpretation of Northern Michigan landscapes. His collection of art will be on display this evening.
Neil says “I am an Artist living in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The obsessions and compulsions of my art making are tied to the natural world around me in this; and other locales I visit – and are passionate about. Photography is essential to my painting practice as an input device. I take thousands of photos a year, but print few. The practice melds the images in my brain from whence I paint abstractly.”
He holds a BFA in Painting with Honors from Michigan State University in East Lansing and an MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills.
