Welcome to Northern Michigan! It’s no secret, how much we love our little neck-of-the-woods. But more importantly, we want you to love it just as much! If you ask us, the secrets to an unforgettable up-north adventure are listed below. Alanson, Charlevoix, Harbor Springs and Petoskey offer more than any person can experience in one trip, you’ll just have to come back to try it all!
Fall Color Drive
Winding roads filled with golds, reds and bright oranges, create the best scenery in Michigan. One of our favorites: M-119 Tunnel Of Trees. For more color tour drives, check out the Petoskey Area’s 5 Awesome Color Tour Routes.
Visit An Apple Orchard
Cider, freshly picked apples, pumpkins, corn mazes and donuts – oh my! Does it get any better? We love Uncle Frank’s Apple Town and Pond Hill Farm. Don’t forget to check on social distancing and masking requirements before visiting.
Go For A Fall Hike or Bike Ride
The Little Traverse Conservancy offers more than 172 nature preserves across northern Michigan or hop on the Little Traverse Wheelway and the Northwestern State Trail, go from Charlevoix all the way to Harbor Springs or Mackinaw. (A portion of the trail is closed just west of Petoskey due to erosion. Please plan accordingly).
Visit A Winery
The Petoskey Wine Region lives up to its name. With over 12 wineries within this region, there’s a varietal for all palettes. View all wineries.
