Austin & Meghan were married in Petoskey in July of 2016 with a beautiful ceremony at the Mitchell Street Bridge. Read more about their beautiful day below.
Austin and I went to rival high schools and met at a track meet. We started talking and found out that we both share the same birthday! We began dating shortly after and have been inseparable ever since!
We traveled to Mackinac Island for the day and rode our bikes to all of my favorite places. We started getting ready for dinner and a horse-drawn carriage pulled up and took us to the “Somewhere In Time” Gazebo. Austin knelt down on one knee and presented my dream ring. Of course I said yes!
Wedding Day Extras
Having sentimental value was important to both of us. Displaying generational wedding photos at our ceremony to honor both of our families was one of the most moving touches of our big day. In addition, the diamond heart necklace I wore as my “something borrowed” was given to my Nana from my Papaw on their 25th wedding anniversary. The knife that we used to cut our cake was the very same one that my parents used on their wedding day 33 years ago while the lace wrapped around my bouquet was from my mother’s dress. I carried an embroidered hanker-chief that had belonged to my special Papaw as I wanted to keep him close to my heart. These meaningful details truly made our wedding day more special.
We are fortunate to live in stunning northern Michigan, so it was natural for us to get married here, too.
