Stafford’s Pier Restaurant Makes Change in Management Structure

As of October 1, 2022, Jody Ewbank has handed over the Pier Restaurant General Manager reigns to Cristen Smith, who is in her fifth year with Stafford’s Hospitality.

“Cristen has been a complete joy to work with the last 5 years. We have learned from each other and during that time created a great working atmosphere for the amazing staff who takes care of our customers in a genuine and professional fashion every day. I have complete faith in Cristen in leading this team.”                             

Jody will still be involved with the Pier, but in a different capacity. She will be working directly with management at all Stafford properties to identify innovative ways to improve the customer experience, and will continue to be involved in the Harbor Springs community as much as possible, as she truly believes Harbor Springs is the best place on the planet.

The Pier has been a premier waterfront dining destination in Harbor Springs for over 50 years. The location, full bar service, mouth-watering appetizers and entrees prepped daily by Chef and his crew certainly is a draw for customers seeking a unique experience. But the friendly, dedicated staff hand-picked by management is what brings people back. Smith will be only the fifth general manager at the Pier in the past 50 years.

“It is an honor to take over the General Manager position," said Smith. I can’t thank Stafford’s administration enough for this opportunity. I feel the time I spent working side-by-side with Jody and the rest of the amazing Pier staff has prepared me for this role.”

Smith and the Pier team have some great things on the horizon for the Harbor Springs community. “Our customers have been asking us to offer lunch more often in the Fall/Winter season, said Smith. We are excited to deliver.”

Beginning Oct. 30 the Pier Restaurant will be open for lunch Tuesday – Saturday (lunch and brunch on Saturday). Curbside service and take-out will be additional options offered to their customers.
